The Great Depression was a time of hardship due to economic troubles. People were losing jobs rapidly because the stock market crashed and people became in debt and could not pay their way out of it. The crash sent millions to the street living in tiny huts made out of whatever they could find on the streets and even used logs and such from the woods.

Some law's that were enforced were no alcohol at all imported into the United States. So people started to make there own alcohol and smugglers came in from Canada to sell to people in the United States. An now today Alcohol is aloud to be sole an imported into the United States. Though you still can not rob or murder someone without a penalty. Today penalty's are not as bad as they were in the 1920's. In the 1920's most people were sentenced to death for such crimes. Another law was you were not aloud to teach evolution. An today you can choose what you want to learn about an what you want to believe. An if caught teaching evolution in the 1920's you could be sentenced to jail time. Some famous criminals are Al capon, Sacco and Vanzetti, and John T. Scope.
Today the laws are not as enforced as they were in the 1920's. An the penalties are not a intents. Also your not guilty until it is proven when in the 1920's a lot of people were pinpointed for things they did not do. Today people have the right to a fair trial an in the 1920's some felt if someone murdered someone else they got hung they did not need a trial they were just sentenced.

be at. All the banks pretty much failed and millions of dollars was lost and impossible to get back. It was from people buying from the margin which means that people borrowed money from the bank to buy things. After the banks failed people lost all the money that they had in the bank, which meant they could not pay the bank back when the stock market had crashed so that really had a bad effect on the economy.

A Commoditie is A physical substance, such as food, grains, and metals, which is interchangeable with another product of the same type, and which investors buy or sell, usually through futures contracts. The price of the commodity is subject to supply and demand. Risk is actually the reason exchange trading of the basic agricultural products began. For example, a farmer risks the cost of producing a product ready for market at sometime in the future because he doesn't know what the selling price will be.
During the Depression bread cost 9 cents, milk cost 14 cents a quart, round steak cost 42 cents a pound.
*Relief payments during the Great Depression were givin to families in poverty. Relief payments were simply a gift of money and basic essentials to those could not afford it. These payments were made to help the general well being of the American family. The result was fewer deaths. Many people were givin food stamps in which they would be able to use that as payment for their food.
