During the Great Depression many laws were passed. Many new things that normally people before that time hadn't had to worry about Including Murder, crimes, guns were brought to everyone's eyes.In 1929 The Police started collecting and keeping records on crime in the U.S. This was done because crime was increasing. Then during this time, people evicted of crimes could just easily get the death sentence. While today we have less extreme punichments.
In 1934 the National Firearms act was passed. This was brought to the government because of the "gangsters" of the era. This made sure people owning machine guns or short barrel hand guns were registered. Today in 2009, every gun needs to be registered, if not the gun is illegal to use.


Also. during the great depression they made alcohol illegal also known as the prohibition and as well, it could no longer be imported to the United States. This eventually brought smugglers. Today in 2009 alcohol is legal as long as you are of age. The great depression brought many changes that influenced everyone and their families.

Euthanasia is the intentional killing by act or omission of a dependent human being for his or her alleged benefit. In the U.S today it is illegal but it hasn't always been. Even today there is still an arguement to whether euthanasia is morally right or not.
